St. Pius X High School
50th Anniversary Celebration
October 11, 2009
You are most cordially invited to a celebratory Mass
and reception honoring the 50th Anniversary of the opening of St. Pius X High School.
Alumni, alumni parents and friends of St. Pius are encouraged to join in the festivities
beginning with a 2:00 p.m. Mass on Sunday, October 11th in the gymnasium. Afterwards there
will be a reception featuring famous St. Pius cookies and rolls prepared for this special
occasion by the former kitchen staff.
In addition, many of you will see your (then) youthful faces on a
large screen presentation covering the past 50 years. This will be a fun day to connect
with old friends. Alumni are invited
to participate in the Homecoming Parade (Oct. 16) that will be led
by the Class of 1963, the first graduating class.
Donut Sundays
St. Anne will have their first Donut Sunday on September 6th after
the 8:30 a.m. Mass. The first Donut Sunday for St. Joseph is set for October 4th after the
7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Masses. We invite you to come and enjoy fellowship along with the
coffee, donuts and orange juice.
Many helping hands are needed to pick up the donuts, serve and
clean up. We would like to thank our loyal volunteers, Char Gestring, Rick Bender, Beverly
Pinson, Diana Schwartz, Bob Krull and Barb Krull for their gracious hospitality on Donut
Sundays. If you would like to volunteer for a Sunday or make a donation, please call Char
Gestring in the Parish office. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
St. Rose of Lima Picnic
St. Rose of Lima will host their picnic at the Knights of Columbus
Grounds in De Soto on Saturday and Sunday, September 5th & 6th . Chicken and Beef
Dinners will be served in addition to live music and wine tasting. Come and enjoy bingo,
childrens games, a chance to win a raffle prize and cold refreshments. Free parking
and shuttle service will be available
Festival 2009
September 20, 2009
Our Festival 2009 is shaping up to be our most exciting
picnic ever! Mary Barber and Jean Jennings are organizing their bingo/pull tab tent. Our
world famous chefs are gathering their recipes and our grill cooks are ordering their
supplies. Specialty foods are being secretly prepared in Fathers kitchen. If you
think you can ride, bring that cowboy hat and prove it. Tell your friends, relatives and
neighbors that we will feature the HOTTEST Mechanical Bull Ride on earth. Our rodeo booth
will have lights, cameras and action for those brave enough to ride "The Bull".
Pictures ala Matthew will be available of your rodeo highlights.

and dinner helper is important and greatly appreciated.
Monday volunteers are needed to dismantle booths, tents and clean
up. Please complete the form if you can help. Free lunch is provided on both Saturday and
