Attention
Parishioners:
The Parish Council has called a special meeting for all
parishioners to be held following Mass on Sunday, August 4th, 2002.
Several issues need to be addressed that will affect St. Anne
immediately and in the future. We are asking for your ideas and opinions.
This will be your opportunity to
be heard.
Please plan to attend and take an active role in your
Parish.
Pre-registration will be held this weekend after all the Masses in
the Church Hall. You are encouraged to register your child/children now so that materials
that will be needed can be ordered. We don’t want anyone left out. The first class
will begin Sunday, August 25 th. from 9:00.a.m. until 9:45 a.m.
Need spiritual nourishment? Join with other women from the parish
at the women’s retreat at King’s House retreat and renewal Center in Belleville,
Illinois on October 4-5-6, 2002. Call Margaret Scott at (573-358-0537) for further
information.
The parishioners of St. Anne and St. Joseph Parish would like to
extend their sympathy to Ruth Basler and family on the loss of her mother, Mildred Miller.
Mildred was a member of St. Anne Parish for many years. She will be remembered in our
prayers.
I have extended an invitation to Rev. Richard
Bayuk, C.PP.S., to visit St. Anne and St. Joseph parish on the weekend of August 3-4,
2002. He will be speaking to us about the work being done through the Christian Foundation
for Children and Aging.
The Christian Foundation for children and Aging is a non-profit
international Catholic mission assistance organization which works with the poor,
especially needy children and elderly, in over twenty developing countries. Founded by
Catholic lay people, CFCA aims to mobilize help and support for the poor… promoting
understanding and care on an international level.
CFCA’s main activity is its Sponsorship program whereby a
child or elderly person at a Catholic mission site is linked with a sponsor who cares
about them. A sponsor helps to provide much needed nourishing food, medical/dental care,
the chance for a child to go to school and much more - - all directed at affirming the
individual as our brother or sister in Christ.
Please join me in welcoming Rev. Richard Bayuk, C.PP.S., to St.
Anne and St. Joseph Parish.
