BY NAME

Mary Magdalene didn’t recognize Jesus until he called her by name. I think we are a lot like that. There is so much work to be done in spreading the kingdom. Why doesn’t someone do it?

If I could hear Jesus call me by name, maybe I’d be more willing to do my part. Can I accept the fact the he does? I wonder what my life would be like if I started each day with the realization that Jesus is calling me by name to do his work in the world.

ST. ANNE CHURCH, FRENCH VILLAGE

The regular meeting of the Parish Council will be held at 7:00p.m. on July 22, 2003.

Once again it is time to ask for donations for our second annual Vacation Bible School! Last year we had an overwhelming amount of craft items donated that we can still use this year. So we are only asking for donations for our snacks. Bible School is from July 28-July 31 from 6:00-8:00p.m. If you wish to donate fruit, please wait until three-four days before Bible School begins to bring it. Items may be dropped off at the rectory. If you need any other information, please call Shara Weiss at 431-8012. Thank you once again for your support!

Any of the following items would be appreciated.

Plain rice cakes, raisins, shelled sunflower seeds,

Red grapes, whipped cream cheese, instant chocolate pudding mixes, milk, chocolate wafer cookies, dessert topping (like Cool Whip), gummy worms, bottled juice or fruit drink, (gallon size), apples, caramel dip, hot dogs, hot dog buns, mustard, ketchup, bagged cotton candy, unshucked ears of corn, plastic spoons, paper plates, small cups, plastic knives, napkins and large storage containers with lids.

Please call ahead if donating refrigerated items so we can make sure there is ample storage space.

The PSR staff is in need of a volunteer to teach the confirmation class this Fall. If you would like to help please call Jamie Weiss at 431-8012

THANK YOU

A special thank you from Pat Schwarz and Debbie AuBuchon to all the people who donated plants for the Plant Booth. The Booth was able to offer a wide selection of plants to the people that stopped by.

 "TOGETHER IN HIS NAME"

The St. Joseph Prayer Group "Together In His Name" will meet on Monday, July 21st. Holy Hour will begin at 6:00p.m. with the meeting to begin at 7:00p.m. Everyone is welcome!

The "Museum" located in the Old Rectory, is open Sundays from 11:00a.m. till noon, during the months of June, July and August. Admission is free.

YOUR HELP IS NEEDED

We are in need of some volunteers to clean the Sacristy. It takes only a short time from your busy schedule. Get a friend or your spouse and make this a prayerful time. Please call the rectory if you are interested at 358-2112.

LITURGICAL CHANGES

Congratulations! About 80 percent of the parishioner’s have been bowing their heads when the person ahead of them receives the Blessed Sacrament. I know that some of these changes will be easy and we can move them into the Holy Sacrament of the Mass without much difficulty.

We will be discussing the other changes in the coming weeks. These liturgical changes may be uncomfortable at first but as your Pastor, I know that we can do this together as requested by the Archbishop.

Sincerely Yours In Christ,

Father John
