Stewardship

"When I entered your house, you did not give me water for my feet." LUKE 7:44 Today’s Gospel calls us to consider how we serve God. Do we consume like the Pharisee who simply reclines at the table and expects to be served? Or do we contribute like the woman who kneels before Jesus and washes His feet? Every day we must make a choice. Take or give? Consume or contribute? Recline or serve?

St. Joseph Gift Shop

The Gift Shop is open before and after the 10:00 a.m. Mass every Sunday. Please stop byif you need that special gift for Father’s

A special thanks to our faithful volunteers who clean our Church every week. Please call the Parish office at 358-2112 if you are able to help

Stewardship

"If anyone wishes to come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me." LUKE 9:23

We are not very good at "denying ourselves" in this society. Our current economic situation is evidence of what happens when people think they can have everything they want. Jesus calls us to set our own personal "wants" aside so that we have the resources to follow Him instead.

Peter’s Pence Collection

Next week our diocese will take up the Peter’s Pence Collection, which provides the Holy Father with the assistance he needs to carry out his most important charitable works. The proceeds benefit the most disadvantaged: victims of war, disasters, and oppression. Through your generosity, with Pope Benedict we can cast the love of Christ upon the world.

Picnic – 2010

The weather was warm, the crowd was festive, and the fried chicken, kettle beef and liver dumplings were the best ever. Sheriff Bullock entertained our guests with toe tapping country music. The bingo tables were busy and the children enjoyed games.

We appreciate everyone who came and supported our St. Anne Parish picnic.

Father John and the Parish Council would like to extend their appreciation to all who worked before, during and after the picnic. Without your help the picnic could not be held year after year.

Father’s Day Prayer

God our Father,

You govern and protect Your people and shepherd them with a Father’s love.
You place a father in a family as a sign
of Your love, care, and constant protection.
May fathers everywhere be faithful to the
example shown in the Scriptures: steadfast
in love, forgiving transgressions, sustaining
the family, caring for those in need. Give Your wisdom to fathers that they may encourage and guide their children.
Keep them healthy so that they may support a family. Guide every father with the Spirit of Your love that they may grow in holiness and draw their family ever closer to You.

Amen.

A special blessing for fathers will be given at all the Masses this weekend.

"Get Caught Praying" and other words of wisdom are examined in the pamphlet "Ten Things That Make for a Great Catholic Dad", which is an insert in this weekend’s bulletin.
