PENTECOST BANNER

For our spiritual reflection we have a new banner on the west side of the altar. In our Pentecost Banner, the Holy Spirit is symbolized by the Dove descending upon the twelve Apostles with tongues of fire. Through the power of the Holy Spirit they became enlightened and received the courage to bring the "Good News" of Jesus to the world. The flowers symbolize the blossoming of our new life in the Spirit. Red is the color of the Holy Spirit. The tongues of fire are in red. Green is the color of life and hope. Green is the main color used by the Church from the time after Pentecost until Advent. It reflects the hope and growth of the early Church through the teachings of Jesus Christ as do the readings and Gospels during this season.

ST. ANNE PARISH
FRENCH VILLAGE, MO.

PLEASE help if you can. We are in need of someone to clean our Church. The sign up sheet is on the podium in the back of Church. Most of the months have been filled but a few are still blank. This could be an opportunity for a retired couple to work together on a project and spend a few quite moments in prayer, or a couple of ladies to enjoy lunch together after working for God.

IMPORTANT: Please come downstairs for the last meeting before the picnic. It will be held this morning after Mass. It is important that everyone attend this meeting because final arrangements will be made.

You can still order your T-Shirt / Hat for the picnic. They will be imprinted with the St. Anne name and logo. Adult T-Shirt, $8.50, Youth T-Shirt, $8.00, Hat, $4.50. To order please call Janet Mecey at 358-0684.

THE COUNTRY STORE is in need of items to sell. Last year we had requests for home baked goodies, canned vegetables, jellies etc. If you have any of these items and would like to donate them, please call Janet Mecey at 358-0684. We are also having a "Price is Right" section for books, puzzles or any item in good condition that can be sold, dishes of any type, are always a good seller. If you need them picked up please call Janet Mecey at 358-0684.

Preparations are being made for Kenrick-Glennon Days, summer camps for young men interested in the priesthood. For the past three years, Kenrick-Glennon Days have been a huge success. Over 260 young men from 6th grade through high school have spent time having fun, growing in faith, and inquiring about their vocation with seminarians and priests from the Archdiocese of Saint Louis. It is our hope that this year’s camps will be an even greater success!

The first summer camp, for 6th and 7th graders of the 2002/2003 school year, will take place Saturday, June 8 through Monday, June 10, 2002.

The second camp, for 6th and 7th graders of the 2002/2003 school year, will take place Monday, June 10 through Wednesday, June 12, 2002.

The third camp, for 8th and 9th graders of the 2002/2003 school year, is scheduled for Thursday, June 13 through Saturday, June 15, 2002.

The Office of Vocations will again offer a week long program for high school men (sophomore through senior year) to work as junior counselors at Kenrick-Glennon Days. The camps are scheduled from Saturday, June 8 through Saturday, June 15, 2002. Friday, June 7, 2002 is registration and orientation for the junior counselors. Not only will this experience be a good opportunity for them to help discern a vocation, but it will also provide a great opportunity to log service hours for their local youth groups, high schools, and Boy Scouts, since they will be working as junior counselors alongside the seminarians to coordinate the 6th through 9th grade camps.

If you have any questions about Kenrick-Glennon Days, itinerary, scholarships, etc., please call the Office of Vocations at 314-792-6460
