"The Lord is good to all, compassionate to every creature.
The Lord supports all who are falling and raises all who are bowed down. You open wide
your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing " (Psalms 145:9, 14, 16). The
greatness and goodness of God has been known by every generation before and after the
psalmist first wrote this song of praise. No matter how much or how little we possess, we
acknowledge our dependence on God for his good gifts.
Need is nothing new. It comes with many faces and is found in
every community, neighborhood and parish in our Archdiocese. As we near the end of the
Archdiocesan Development Appeal, please prayerfully consider how you might help address
this need. Your participation in the Appeal will help feed a family suffering from the
loss of employment; your gift will mean young people will be prepared for the Sacrament of
Marriage; your act of love will mean that a family will be able to give their children a
Catholic education.
Christ calls each of us to "Love one another as I love
you."(John 15:12). It is a simple act. Your gift can be a simple gift. Already
thousands have made pledges to the Appeal. Please join them in this act of love.
Brochures are available today describing the programs that are
supported by the Archdiocesan Development Appeal and the dollars they receive. Please take
a moment to find out how you can participate and help someone in need. |
ST.
ANNE CHURCH,
FRENCH VILLAGE, MO.
Everyone
is asked to come and help get ready for the Picnic. We will have two work days ,one on
Saturday, May 22nd. starting at 8:00a.m. and Sunday, May 23rd.
starting at 10:00 a.m. The more workers we have the faster the job can be completed. We
are doing it this weekend because the following weekend is Memorial Day and many workers
will not be available. Please come and help!
The Church is still in need of someone to clean during the month
of June. Can you help??
Father John will again hold a special Mass for all the Picnic
workers on Saturday, June 5 at 7:00p.m.
Several members have showed an interest in becoming servers. Both
men and women can become servers. New albs are needed but we are waiting to see what and
how many to purchase. Please contact Deacon Don at the rectory if you are interested.
Please take the time to check the bulletin board in the back of
Church for your Sunday to be Gift Bearer. Some have forgotten their week. If you cannot
make your week please contact Janet Mecey and a change can be made.
PLEASE TAKE NOTE
On Monday, May 17th morning Mass will be held in the
School auditorium at 8:00a.m. so that we can bless the new windows. Each room will be
blessed. The ceremony will take place after the homily. No Mass will be held in Church.
Please join us in the School.
Daughters of Isabella Bake Sale is this weekend after all the
Masses. Stop by the Church Hall and get some of the delicious homemade goodies.
