GOD’S LIFESAVERS

Through the combined efforts of St. Joseph Church, St. Anne Church, Immaculate Conception Church and Trinity Lutheran (Farmington & Fredericktown), pro-life workers are providing valuable pro-life material at our various community picnics, festivals, etc.  Beginning Mother’s Day (May 14, 2006) and ending Father’s day (June 18, 2006) they will conduct a Diaper Drive, to collect disposable diapers of various sizes, as well as infant clothing for layette sets.  These items will be divided between “Nurses for Newborns, Parkland Pregnancy Center, New Way Women’s Shelter, St. Vincent De Paul Food Pantry’s and our Birthright office in Hillsboro, Mo.

Here at St Joseph and St. Anne, a box is provided for these items.   We also welcome “gently used” clothing from newborn to size 2T.

If you are interested in the joint pro-life group “God’s Lifesavers”, new members are always welcome.  Meetings are usually held on the 2nd. Sunday of the month, at alternating churches.  However, due to the Mother’s Day holiday, the next meeting will be held on May 21, 2006 at 2:00p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Fredericktown.

OUR LADY SODALITY

Thank you to those old and new that attended our first anniversary luncheon at Homestead Restaurant.  A good time was had by all.  It has been decided that officers will serve a two-year term.

To show appreciation for a job well done the Sodality will provide pizza to the school children, teachers, staff, and members of St. Vincent De Paul on Friday, May 5, 2006 at 11:30 a.m.

The month of May is dedicated to Our Blessed Mother.  To honor her, the Sodality will pray the rosary outside at the Grotto on Thursdays following morning mass.  The first rosary will be May 4th. All are invited to participate.

This weekend six children will be receiving the sacrament of First Communion at 10:00 a.m. Mass.

Please congratulate: Taylor Byington, daughter of Mark & Lou Ann Byington, Peyton Couchman, daughter of Jerry & Peggy Couchman,Jacqueline Greer, daughter of Gary & Monique Greer, Emily Hambrick, daughter of Robert & Robynn Hambrick, Kyle Krus, son of Michael & Lori Krus and William Stephens, son of John and Mary Stephens.
