For many years, St. Joseph and St. Anne Parishes have provided a luncheon at the time of death of a regular member of the Parish. Luncheon committees are made up of a Chairman, Co-Chairman and approximately 20 members, all of whom are volunteers. The Parish pays for the main dish and volunteers provide the rest of the meal, as well as serve the luncheon. At present, we have five committees at St. Joseph and each committee is used approximately 4-5 times a year. Death, illness or just plain exhaustion has eliminated a good number of our volunteers, and we are looking for more support. If you can chair a committee (telephone the other members, organize and plan the meal) or would like to volunteer to help on a committee, please contact the Rectory (358-2112). This is a service that is very much appreciated by the families of a deceased member and, with your support, we can continue it.

ST. ANNE CHURCH
FRENCH VILLAGE, MO.

The planning for this year’s St. Joseph Church Festival is underway. There will be some big surprises in the next few weeks but they will only work if we all become a part of this important event.

The profit from the Festival has fallen by nearly 50 percent from levels of the late 1990’s.

Tom Willette, last years chairman, took the first steps in the turn around. A new date was established and some new ideas were introduced. We made an investment in the future by purchasing billboards to make a big splash on the changing of the date. That effort is now behind us and it is time to establish the Festival as a family-fun place to go.

Is it right to build a good school to provide a good education for our children? Is it right to come together as a parish community to help fund that education? Is it right to build a spirit of community in our parish? Is it right to provide some stewardship for our parish? The obvious answer to all of these is "yes". Then there is just one more question…"Did you ever regret doing the right thing?"

We will be holding a sign up next Saturday and Sunday, April 26th and April 27th after all the Masses. Please join us in "doing the right things" by volunteering a few hours on Sunday, June 22nd. It is a great exercise for the soul and you’ll have fun doing it!

Daughters of Isabella corporate communion will be today, April 26th at the 5:15p.m. Mass. All ladies please sit in the front.

YOUTH GROUP

The next meeting will be May 4th at the Bone Terre City Park. Please note the time. We will begin at 2:00p.m.and conclude at 4:00p.m. Please bring a friend and any sports equipment that could be used. This sounds like a fun afternoon. PLEASE JOIN US!

Thank you to all the Knights of Columbus. Lady Knights, the school parents who made desserts, all those who worked so hard and to everyone who supported the Fish Fry, with their attendance. A check of $5,300.00 was presented to the Parish for St. Joseph School. This check represents proceeds from the Fish Fry. This very important fund raiser was another huge success.
