School News

St. Joseph School will host a Spring Wine Tasting & Silent Auction on Saturday, May 2nd. Please mark your calendar for this year’s annual fundraiser – remember that your support is what keeps the doors open at St. Joseph School. These children are the seeds of our faith that will grow the Church for the next decade.

Some suggestions for support:

l. Cash donation for the purchase of an item for the Auction. You will be listed in the Program.

2. A donation of a "Summer Fun Item". There is a box in the back of Church and by the door to the Parish office.

3. Parish family baskets/packages are always welcome and can be brought to the school any

time before April 26th. Thank you.

St. Joseph School will be
closed Easter Monday.

Practice for First Communion will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2009, at noon. Our students will receive their First Communion on Sunday, April 19, at the 10:00 a.m. Mass.

Picnic - 2009

Thank you to all who have donated toward the Country Store/Fancy Stand. We are still in need of donations.

Easter Egg Hunt

St. Anne will host an Easter Egg Hunt after Mass this morning. Refreshments will be served following the Hunt.

Child Abuse Prevention Month

April is national Child Abuse Prevention Month. In order to keep our children safe, all adults who work or volunteer around children at our parish must be in compliance with the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops Safe Environment Program (SEP). Our parish has been audited and found to be in compliance with SEP requirements, but continuing compliance requires ongoing cooperation from everyone in any youth ministry. We want to make sure that no one who works or volunteers around our children ever poses a threat to them.

Daughters of Isabella

Mark you calendar! We will have a very special guest speaker, Katie Rodriquez Banister, at our next meeting on April 13, 2009. Katie is a motivational speaker and an Advocate for People with Disabilities. She has been confined to a wheelchair for 19 years. Please join us to hear her very inspirational message.

We will have refreshments and celebrate our January through April birthdays following the program.

Knights of Columbus

Father John, the staff and the students would like to thank the Knights of Columbus for their generous donation to St. Joseph School in the amount of $9,500.00. This represents the proceeds from their weekly Lenten Fish Fries.

May God bless them in their efforts and may we continue to support them.

Christ is Risen! Alleluia!

This is the day we have been waiting for – a day of triumph, and of resurrected life begun! As we listen to the readings at Mass, we sing "Alleluia" along with the entire Christian world, past and present. Let us rejoice and be glad!

Feast of Divine Mercy

The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass for the Feast of Divine Mercy will be celebrated at St. Maurus Catholic Church in Biehle, Missouri on Sunday, April 19, 2009, at 3:00 p.m. Adoration and confessions will begin at 1:00 p.m.

Regina Cleri

Today the annual Easter Collection for Regina Cleri will be taken up after each Mass. Your generosity supports the elderly and infirm priests of our Archdiocese.

Leaders Through Mary

Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2009. We will enjoy lunch at the Nutrition Center in Bonne Terre at 11:30 a.m. and convene in the Church Hall at 12:30 p.m. for our meeting.

Office of Laity & Family Life

A retreat for Caregivers is being offered which is designed to bring spiritual, emotional and physical refreshment to all who provide care for a loved one. This one-day event is scheduled for Tuesday, April 21, 2009. For more information, please call 314-792-7183.

No Parking

April 12, 2009 will be the last time we will be able to use the Methodist parking lot until their building project is completed this fall. A gate will be put up for safety reasons.

Easter Joy

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you… John 14:27

May His endless love rise each day within your heart. HAPPY EASTER .
