ST. ANNE CHURCH

Donated cans that are given to the St. Vincent De Paul Society (Food Pantry) helps feed the poor of our area. Your help is needed. To help the Food Pantry a container has been placed at the basement door.

St. Joseph Gift Shop

Starting Sunday, April 6, 2008 the Gift Shop will be OPEN after all Masses on the first weekend of the month. A good way to remember the new schedule will be that it is always on Coffee/Donut Sunday.

Youth Program

There will be a special program for 7-12 grade students following the 10:00 a.m. Mass Sunday, April 13, 2008.

DO YOU KNOW HOW TO BE A DISCIPLE? DO YOU KNOW HOW
OUR CHURCH IS SPREADING THE GOSPEL AROUND THE WORLD?

Bring a snack to feed 4 people. Meet in the Church Hall and discover how our church is helping people all over the world. The program will last about 1 hour.

Welcome!

Let us welcome to our parish family the Catholic Christians who recently took their journey of faith. Frederick E. Hackmann, Jr., Stacy D. Lappe and Daniel L. Sparkman. May God continue to bless them on their journey in life.

Gifts For The School

Last week we received gifts to help with the support of the school.

The Knights of Columbus generated a check for $10,000.00 from the Lenten Fish Fry’s. The Home and School donated $4,465.98. The Bingo Committee presented us a check in the amount of $6,000.00.Thank you to all that worked and supported these fund raisers. You are appreciated.

Congratulations
on Your 50th
!

Vernon & Loretta Dressel will be celebrating 50 years of marriage & renewing their vows on April 12, 2008.

Vernon & Loretta grew up in South St.Louis. They attended school at St. Cecilia’s. On April 12, 1958 they were married by Rev. Albert Bruegger at their home parish (St. Cecilia’s). God blessed them with six boys & five girls (Our Special Eleven). They have eighteen grandchildren (13 boys & 5 girls). They also have three great grandchildren (2 boys & 1 girl). Vernon & Loretta are looking forward to all the joys and trails God has yet in store for them. We congratulate them on this happy occasion.

Vincentian Marian Youth

Sunday evening April 13, 2008, is the date set for the next Vincentian Marian Youth Encounter at the Shrine Church in Perryville, Mo. The evening will start with a 5 minute Faith Alive at 6 p.m. Mass featuring contemporary Christian music follows with Fr. Joe Williams as the main celebrant. We will top the evening off with food, fun, sharing, and laughter. This VMY event is geared for teens and youth adults but all ages are free and welcome to come! Hope to see you there!

Easter Water

It is traditional to have Holy Water at your house. We bless ourselves to remind us of our baptism (entry into the church) we also use it at times of storms in the weather and our lives

On Holy Saturday, Easter water is blessed and you are invited to take some home for use in the coming year. A suitable container can be brought from home or the Religious Gift Shop has containers available.

I think this tradition has been forgotten or neglected because the font is still as full as it was at the beginning of the Easter Vigil.

What do you think about reviving this tradition? Thank to all who volunteered during Lent!
