at the Rectory. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated. Thank you for supporting
our children and school. These children are the seeds of our faith that will grow the
Church for the next decade.

School will be heard after the 8:00 a.m. Mass on Monday, April 6, 2009.

Picnic - 2009
Thank you to all who have donated toward the Country Store/Fancy
Stand. We are still in need of donations.
Confessions for Easter will be heard after the
8:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday, March 29, 2009.
"Leaders Through Mary"
We will dedicate the month of May to the honor of the Blessed
Virgin Mary. Our school children will celebrate the "Crowning of the Statue of
Mary" with devotions and flowers outside after Mass on May 7, 2009. This fall a
"Day of Retreat" is scheduled which will be open to all. A "Family Fun
Night" is being planned for later this year. Come and join our group and see what the
power of prayer can do, and have some fun as well. Please contact Sandy Boyd 358-7121 or
Janet Mecey 358-0684 for more information.
Eucharistic Adoration
There is a sign up sheet in the back of Church for the First
Friday Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. The celebration of the Eucharistic Adoration
will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, April 3, and conclude with the Benediction at 5:00 p.m.
Please sign up for your time to be spent with the Lord. He gave His life, can we not give
one-half hour or more to Him?
Penance Services
St. Joseph Church will hold a communal penance service on Monday,
April 6, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. Confessions will also be heard at St. James Church in Potosi
on Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at 7:00 p.m.
"The Ninth Hour"
St. Josephs Choir will present a Lenten & Easter musical
entitled "The Ninth Hour". It is a powerfully moving musical drama about
Christs passion and resurrection. Come listen to the Greatest Love Story ever sung!
There will be one performance only Monday, April 6, 2009, before the penance
service.
Lenten Reflections
What is the importance of Eucharistic devotion? Saint Alphonsus
Liguori wrote: "Of all devotions, that of adoring Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament is
the greatest after the sacraments, the one dearest to God and the one most helpful to us.
The Eucharist is a priceless treasure: by not only celebrating it but also by praying
before it outside of Mass we are enabled to make contact with the very wellspring of
grace."
Knights of Columbus
Whats for supper? Finger lickin good fish fried up to a
golden brown, macaroni and cheese, green beans, stewed tomatoes and slaw. Finish this off
with a mouth watering homemade dessert and you will have a Friday night feast. Bring your
family and friends and have a sit down dinner or let us fix you a plate to go. Doors open
at 4:00 p.m. The proceeds will be donated to St. Joseph School.
Daughters of Isabella
Only one more week! Our Rummage Salewill be held on Saturday, April 4, between the
hours of 7:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. in the Church Hall. Please bring all of your donations on
Friday, April 3. If you would like an early pick up, call Claudine Willette at 358-7516.
Members may report to the Church Hall on Friday at noon for setup. Helping hands are also
needed to make our sale a success on Saturday anytime from 7:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m.
Rite of Christian
Initiation of Adults
The Scrutinies are celebrated in order to deliver the
elect from the power of sin and Satan, to protect them from temptation, and to give them
strength in Christ, who is the way, the truth, and the life. These rites, therefore,
should complete the conversion of the elect and deepen their resolve to hold fast to
Christ and to carry out their decision to love God above all.
Let us pray for these elect whom God has chosen. May they
successfully complete their long preparation and at the Pascal Feast find Jesus Christ in
His Sacraments.
