During the weeks of March 21st –28th- and April 4th the Catechumen’s will be asked to leave after the Proclamation of the gospel and discuss with their teacher the Word of God proclaimed in the Liturgy. This harkens back to the days when the Catechumen’s could not celebrate the full Liturgy until they were received in the Church. This symbolic dismissal reflects the early Church’s reception of new converts.

This Friday, March 26th, the Knights of Columbus will offer another delicious Fish Fry. Serving will begin at 4:00p.m. and end at 7:00p.m. Carry-outs are available. $6.00 for adults, $3.00 for children.

The fish is excellent this year and the crowd grows larger. So come early and share some good times with old friends and meet some new ones. All proceeds go to St. Joseph School.

2004 AMERICAN BISHOPS’ OVERSEAS APPEAL

The generosity of Catholics for the American Bishops’ Overseas Appeal is so critical to the work of the Church in caring for the vulnerable – victims of war, persecution, and poverty.

The American Bishops’ Overseas Appeal –established 60 years ago as the Bishops’ Welfare Emergency Relief Fund – supports agencies that build the international social ministry of the Catholic Church. Ministries include relief and resettlement services to the victims of war and natural disasters, development programs to improve the living conditions of the poor, advocacy on behalf of the powerless, and peace and reconciliation work for people suffering from violence.

This collection will be taken up next Sunday. Envelopes are in your packets. As always your generosity and support is greatly appreciated.
