A BIG THANKS goes to Ruth Basler for making the new changes in the altar covering as well as both podiums. Good job!

For Father Oge’s dinner, please have your dish in by 12:45 p.m.

Thank all of you who contributed so generously in the purchase of the new chairs that are to be used in the downstairs dining hall. Father John said to order 130 of them so that we would have an ample supply for any type of activity.

Thanks to Linda Shearin for the holy picture cards with the prayer for vocations on the back.

Our Lady Sodality

We had a great turnout for our recent luncheon at the Homestead. The March meeting will be held at the Bonne Terre Nutrition Center at noon--lunch first, then the meeting and visitors are welcome. Please try and attend as we will be making our final plans for our Tail Gate Sale in April.

Anyone wishing to secure a table for $10, please contact June Wissler (358-7752) or Janet Mecey (358-0684). All donations accepted.

Our Lady Sodality would like to take this opportunity to wish Father Ray Oge congratulations on his 40th Anniversary of Ordination and being 65 years young!

Tickets are $100, and the first of 20 prizes is $100,000. Please consider purchasing a ticket or get a group together and share the winnings. Tickets are located in the back of the church. Your contribution is greatly appreciated.

Catholic Relief Services Collection

Next week our parish will take up The Catholic Relief Services Collection. This Collection makes possible the American Catholic Church’s global mission to combat poverty, provide relief and development, assist refugees and immigrants, and advocate for justice and peace in situations of conflict and neglect of basic human rights. The theme for The Catholic Relief Services Collection in 2007 is Jesus in disguise. Please help by giving to The Catholic Relief Services Collection.

Acts for a More Meaningful Lent

This Lent let us resolve to practice more prayer, greater almsgiving, better fasting, a deeper confession of sin and return to a life of gratitude as a blessed people. There are a number of opportunities to practice Lent within the parish and I encourage you to avail yourselves of all that you can. May Easter find you and me celebrating the power of being blessed without any hindrances, hang-ups, or preoccupations so that we can weather all the storms of life with the power of Christ, Himself. Gratitude for our blessings is that way we are called to live life. May Lent help us to do so.
