Rosary for World Peace

All parishioners are invited to participate in praying of the rosary for "World Peace". The rosary will be prayed on the 13th of each month. On Wednesday February 13, 2008 after the 8:00am Mass the rosary will begin.

FESTIVAL 2008

The Festival Committee would like to exercise your creative side. We are planning a "Wonderful Wreaths" booth as a new addition to the festival. We would love to have wreaths for all rooms and occasions. So how about wreaths for the kitchen, bath, entryways, living or bedrooms, and seasonal wreaths for spring, summer, autumn and winter. And of course the holiday wreaths for Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day (July 4th), Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas or others.

Not the most creative person ever? If you will purchase the items that you would like to see on a wreath, we have some people who will put them together for you. Should you choose this option we will need to have your items prior to August 15th to give the crafters time to create.

We hope many will participate with this new booth.

We are also thinking about doing a children’s crafting area. If anyone has any ideas or would be interested in working with the children at Festival 2008, please see contact the Rectory.

Thank you for your support while we try some new ideas to enhance Festival 2008!!

Vincentian Marian Youth Upcoming Event

February 10, 2008 is the date set for the next Vincentian Marian Youth Encounter at the Shrine Church in Perryville, Mo. The evening will start with a 5 minute Faith Alive at 6:00pm. Mass featuring contemporary Christian music follows with Fr. Ricky Valleroy as the main celebrant. The evening will offer food, fun, sharing, and laughter. This VMY event is geared for teens and young adults but all ages are free and welcome to come!

Daughters of Isabella

The next regular meeting will be Monday, February 11, 2008 at 7:00pm, preceded by the rosary at 6:45pm.

February is a "Dinner" month. Everyone is asked to bring a covered dish and/or dessert. Dinner will be served at 6:00pm.

We are planning a "Rummage Sale". Please mark your calendars for April 5th. When you clean out your shed, garage etc. please, remember our "Rummage Sale" Ladies, this is your chance to get rid of those things not worth keeping around the house. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

Knights of Columbus Fish Fry

The Knights of Columbus, St. Francois Council 1088 will once again have their Lenten Fish Fry. You can enjoy their delicious fish every Friday during Lent. The menu consists of Four different kinds of Fish, plus Three Sides, Bread, Dessert, Coffee, Tea and Lemonade. They even offer carryouts. Serving begins at 4:00pm. All this for a reasonable price of $7.00 for adults and $3.00 for children.

The Knights of Columbus Hall is located at 7897 Berry Road. Bring your family and friends. What a way to entertain. Good Food, Good Time, Good Friends. Proceeds go to benefit St. Joseph School.

A Valentine’s Day Blessing
Love, the Bible says, is patient.

May you never lose your temper with the one you love, but be patient as God was with His people.

Love, the Bible says, is never boastful.

May you cherish your love as a masterpiece of God, and not as a trophy to be displayed.

Love, the Bible says, is never selfish.

May you always be generous to your love, with time, with affection, with encouragement and assistance.
For as Christ loved the Church,
so we should love our beloved.
As Mary was devoted to her Son,
so we should be devoted to those we love.
And as God loved and sacrificed for the world, so may we always be to those we love.
