The Christmas Bazaar held by the Thursday Morning Prayer Group for St. Joseph School raised $1,275.00.  A copy of the update is placed at the entrance of church.  This event was a huge success thanks to all that worked so hard and so long getting everything ready.

The Quilt Raffle was also a success.  The drawing was November 24, 2004 and the winner was Sharon Lucas of Arnold, Mo.  $145.00 was given to St. Joseph School.  Thanks to all that helped.

WHAT IS ADORATION? Outside of the Mass, we can also adore Jesus, truly present in the Eucharist, every time we visit his sacramental presence reserved in a tabernacle or visibly displayed in a monstrance. ADORATION IS AN ATTITUDE: “To adore God is to acknowledge him as God, and the Creator and Savior, the Lord and Master of everything that exists… to acknowledge… the nothingness of the creature who would not exist but for God.” The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed for our 40 Hour Adoration beginning February 25th thru February 27th.Please use the sign up sheet in the back of church. The Blessed Sacrament cannot be alone during these times so please sign up. A chili lunch will be served at noon on February 27th. Please bring a dessert. Please don’t forget to take a few flyers for our picnic.  If everyone would take five each it would really help to spread the word. As always your help is greatly appreciated. The Home and School is having a monthly breakfast. All proceeds go to St. Joseph School. The last breakfast had a profit of $383.39. A job well done! Thanks to all the parents and especially to Mrs. Monahan and Mrs. Glenda who took the time out of their weekend to help with this project. We are now enrolling students for 2005/2006 school year.Preschool through sixth grade will be offered for the coming year. Please call the school office (573-358-5947) if you are interested in enrolling your child(ren) in our parish school.

Dear Christ’s Faithful:

Catholics in Central and Eastern Europe are striving to restore the Church in societies, which practiced harsh religious persecution during three generations of the atheist rule of communism.

The 2005 Collection to Aid the Church in Central and Eastern Europe – Roots of Faith, Both Fragile and Strong – testifies to the history and hope of solidarity with our Catholic brothers and sisters in the East.  Proceeds from the Collection go directly to support seminaries, social-service programs, and youth ministry, pastoral centers and church restoration; and to the spreading of the Gospel message through the mass media.

On Ash Wednesday, February 9, 2005, you will be asked to contribute to this collection and thereby share the hope and freedom that we have been privileged to enjoy in this country.  Your gift will help to nurture the still fragile restoration of the Church in Central and Eastern Europe.

I thank you in advance for your generous response to my appeal on behalf of the Church in need.

May God reward you.

Asking God’s blessing upon you, your families and your homes, I remain

Yours devotedly in Christ,

(Most Rev.) Raymond L. Burke
Archbishop of saint Louis
