The Daughters of
Isabella will hold their regular monthly meeting on Monday, February 13th in
the Church Hall. Dinner will be served at
6:00p.m.. The rosary will begin at 6:45p.m.
And the meeting will start at 7:00p.m. Our
annual dues are the same as last year -$10.00. If
you have not paid your dues for 2006 please see Dorothy Gouin.
If you did not
receive a bookmark that was distributed at each of the Masses last weekend, please call
the school office (573) 358-5947 and one will be left for you in an envelope at the back
of the church this coming weekend. The
bookmarks were made by the students for each parishioner in appreciation for their
tremendous and generous response concerning the recent financial appeal for the future
operation of the school.

ST. ANNE CHURCH,
FRENCH VILLAGE, MO.
We will have a very important Parish Picnic meeting after Mass
on Sunday,
February, 19th., 2006.
OUR LADY SODALITY
Nothing is as
frightening to a child as a trip to the hospital. That
is why the Ladys Sodality is now collecting new and used (in good condition) stuffed
animals or toys to be distributed to the surrounding hospitals. Games will also be accepted. They will be given to the children coming through
the emergency room. We are hoping that this
will give them a little comfort, and help pass the time.
All donations will be cleaned and disinfected before distribution. A box is placed in the back of both St. Anne and
St. Joseph. You may also contact any member
of the Sodality.
In the past we have had a number of people
wanting to have their child baptized in the parish. My
first question is are you registered in the parish?
The reason I ask the question is that only the pastor of a person can
perform validly the sacrament. The way it
usually plays out is that we register them, they go to the baptismal class and many times
we never see them again. Until its time
for First Communion. That makes us a
sacramental factory rather than the spiritual home of a family growing in their faith!
FYI the policy at St. Joseph and St. Anne will
be as follows: Anyone requesting to have their child baptized and is not a registered
member of the parish will be pre-registered. They
will be encouraged to attend Mass regularly and be actively participating in the parish
activities for 6 months prior to the baptismal date.
I hope this policy will not be of a great
inconvenience and an exception can be made for an approved emergency only.
May God bless these children as the come to us
on their pilgrimage of faith and may their families always lead them and be a witness to
Gods love.
Sincerely yours in Christ
,
Father John
