This year’s celebration of Catholic Schools Week at
St. Joseph Catholic Elementary School begins on Sunday, January 28 and concludes on
February 2, 2007. This year’s theme is Our Children, Our Faith, and Our Future.

COUNCIL MEETING TUESDAY, JANUARY 23 AT 7:00PM.
WE HAVE PURCHASED A NEW CHICKEN BROASTER AND FOOD
WARMER TO BE USED AT OUR PICNIC ON JUNE 3, 2007. THANK YOU TO SAINT JOSEPH FOR THE USE OF
THEIR EQUIPTMENT IN THE PAST.
KICK OFF will begin with a "PARENTS AND
STUDENTS ACTIVITY DAY". All parents and students are invited to attend Mass at
10:00am on Sunday, January 28th. You will note that four students will be the
servers at Mass. After Mass other students will be at the exits of church handing out
window stickers as a token of appreciation to the parishioners. All will then tour the Old
Rectory Museum.
On Monday, January 29, 2007, the official start of Catholic
Schools Week, the students will attend a "banner and flag" Mass at 8:00am. At
1:30pm all students K – 6 will pray the Rosary in church.
On Tuesday, January 30, 2007, beginning at 9:30am Father John and
his faithful companion Stony will visit the students for story time. At1:00pm Father John
and the students (K –6) will go bowling at Bonne Terre Bowling Center. Please bring
back all of the scorecards. We want to see who has the best score! Children, remember to
get all those pretty bows and silly hats out for this day. Preschool will have a different
special event.
DAUGHTER’S OF ISABELLA
On Wednesday, January 31, 2007 there will be a Movie Day with
pajamas/nightwear as the attire for the day. Popcorn and refreshments will be served at
12:30pm.
On Thursday, February 1, 2007 the regular schedule will be
followed. The annual talent show will be held in Kreft Auditorium at 1:30pm. This event
has gained great popularity with the students. It is surprising and amazing how many
varied talents are demonstrated by the students. Each child that participates must have a
signed approval form from a parent.
On Friday, February 2, 2007, the students will conclude the
week’s celebration by attending Mass at 8:00am. The Explorer Bus will arrive in the
school parking lot at 9:00am. All students will get the opportunity to tour the bus and
see all the interesting things on board. The theme is "Science". School will be
dismissed at 11:30am.
This year, as in the past please feel free to attend any and all
of the above events and activities. All of you are most welcome!

our parish family, Kierstin Elizabeth Goidier, Katherine Marie Godier, Layne Michael
Stotler and Jarren Keely Stotler students of St. Joseph Catholic School who were baptized
at the morning Mass, January 19, 2007. May God bless them on their pilgrimage of faith and
may their families continue to lead them and be a witness to God’s love.

CHILDREN ATTENDING ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC SCHOOL AND THOSE WHO WOULD LIKE TO APPLY FOR
TUITION ASSISTANCE ARE WELCOME TO PICK UP AN APPLICATION PACKET AT THE SCHOOL OR PARISH
OFFICE. THE DUE DATE FOR APPLICATION FILING IS APRIL 1, 2007. FOR MORE INFORMATION PLEASE
CALL THE PARISH OFFICE AND ASK FOR THE BOOKKEEPER.
