CATHOLIC CHARITIES

The poverty level for a significant portion of our local population makes basic needs unaffordable. Catholic Charities provides partial financial assistance for food, clothing, rent, utilities, medication and transportation.

Everyone is asked to attend our picnic meeting that will be held on January 27 immediately after Mass. Some new items will be discussed. If you have any questions or suggestions for the picnic, please call Janet Mecey.

The regular meeting for the Parish Council will be held on Tuesday, January 22 at 7:00p.m.

Once again the Parish Council would like to thank everyone who participated and worked to make the Holidays special at St. Anne’s. A special note goes to Ruth Basler and her crew for the Church decorations. The bows on the pews was a beautiful idea.

CATHOLIC FAMILY TUITION ASSISTANCE ENDOWMENT GRANT APPLICATIONS

The Archdiocese of St. Louis is again offering tuition assistance to families who wish to send their children to St. Joseph School for the 2002/2003 school year. This grant is funded by the "Returning God’s Gift’s" program.

Applications are available now and can be picked up at school or the Parish Office. Please remember there is a deadline and the applications are due back at the Archdiocese on or before March 4, 2002.

PRAY FOR THE SICK

Please remember in your daily prayers all those that are homebound, the homeless, the abused women and children, those that are handicapped, and especially our parishioners, Susan DuPerron , Elmer Deterding, and George Bangert.

During 2001, the St. Vincent DePaul Society has assisted many families in the Bonne Terre area. At this time we would like to thank all the workers who donate their time each week and also to everyone who contributes to this worth cause.

ST. JOSEPH FESTIVAL

A meeting of the people who are assembling information for the St. Joseph Festival will be held on January 22, at 7:00 p.m. in the meeting room. The Festival will be for one day. We are asking the entire parish to pull together in solidarity to help every volunteer feel welcome and needed. This is our Parish Family Picnic and we would like to share this fellowship with all our friends and relatives. In light of the tragedy our Country experienced on September 11th. our Core Committee is considering a patriotic theme. If you would like to be involved in our Parish Family Picnic (Festival) or if you have any new ideas you would like to share please contact one of the Core Committee members. Paulette DeGonia, John Groboski, Julie Hill, Barb Ketchum, Debbie Lando, Joe Layden, Alice Lindsey,Leroy & Mary Ann Mauller, Ray Murphy, and Tom Willette are waiting anxiously for your ideas.
