Updated Website

In hopes of helping more than 500,000 Catholics within its boundaries, the Archdiocese of St. Louis has redesigned its website (www.archstl.org) and has made it more accessible to Catholics on the go.

The updated website builds on many of the strengths of the old Archdiocesan website, and incorporates many new features.  The hope is that the new website will communicate the Gospel more effectively and more immediately to the Catholics in St. Louis.

Users of the Archdiocesan website will notice a new look, which is more organized.  Some of the most used features of the website, including the Request a Prayer section and the Parish and Organization directories have been revamped and made easier to use.  The new website also makes it easier for users to keep up-to-date with what is happening throughout the Archdiocese: there is an online calendar of events, and every organization now has a news feed that is automatically updated with the latest information from that organization.

Roses for Life

The Knights of Columbus Council 1088 will hold their annual Roses for Life Campaign this weekend. The Knights will hand out roses.  Please sign them and return them in the second collection. This year’s donations will help purchase ultrasound machines.  Please give generously to help save the lives of the unborn.

Spot Light on Our Advertisers

We appreciate all of our advertisers and will spot light more businesses in the coming weeks.

Please Call

Deacon’s Corner
Epiphany of the Lord

“They prostrated themselves and did him homage. Then they opened their treasures and offered him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh...” - Matthew 2:11

“Notice the distinct order of events in the Magi’s visit. First they knelt before Jesus and prayed to Him. Then they presented Him with their gifts. We, too, must take time to pray before we presume to present our gifts to the Lord. We never know what gifts God might be asking us to share. But when we kneel before Him in prayer we will find the answer.” (Taken from www.archstl.org)

God has given to all of us talents that in giving them to us, He expects us to share. To share is to use those talents to aid others that they might see Him in their lives and not feel that they are facing their hardships alone.

To share of our time; to see through prayer that no matter how busy the day is, God has placed in that day, time for Him and time for Him is time for others. For in finding that time for others, we not only present God working in their lives, but make present Him in ours.

To share our treasures; to do so is to truly show just how much we have and how little during the hardship faced by others, that they may have. For the riches of men, are the poorest if that wealth is without God’s presences. If we share what little we have with others, that little becomes the greatest wealth that can be imagined.

The Magi were not kings as so many believe, but wise men, not in their wealth of material goods, but in their knowledge and understanding, prayer and their opening of their hearts and minds that God may work in their lives. We can all be wise as they were if this year we open our hearts and minds through prayer to God’s work in our lives through the use of our talents, time, and our treasures.

May God keep you safe,

Deacon Mark

Thank you Lord Jesus, Come Holy Spirit
