Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
The merciful love of God is the heart
of the new evangelization. This love is given
to us through the Incarnation of God the Son, the Redemption. He won for us through His Passion, Death and
Resurrection, and the ongoing graces He gives us through His Church. These facts form the backbone of our faith. Television, radio, the Internet and the daily
paper continuously give us their own representation of the Church and the world. Their representation differs significantly from
the vision of the world proclaimed by Jesus and His Church.
We must strive continuously to immerse our minds in the truths of the faith
in order to counteract the secular view we so often encounter.
Catholic media, particularly our
Catholic newspaper, exist to help meet this critical need in the life of faith. Through our Archdiocese newspaper, we learn in a
timely way news of the Church, the teachings of the faith applied to our time, and a
vision of world events in the light of faith. For
these very serious reasons, I have asked that pastors make sure that the St. Louis Review
reaches every home in the Archdiocese. I ask
you to take the initiative to subscribe or renew your subscription to the Review at this
time.
For those who are visually
impaired, the St. Louis Review is available o tape. I
ask that those who wish to receive the Review on Tape please contact their pastor or the
St. Louis Review directly.
In this time when the new
evangelization seeks to permeate modern culture with the truth of the Gospel, I ask you to
receive an important instrument of this work in our Archdiocese by subscribing to the St.
Louis Review.
Invoking Gods blessing upon
you and your homes, I am
Yours devotedly in Christ,
Bingo
